Does your dog suffer from fleas and you are worried about using chemicals?

Here’s a true story from a homeopath: Jean Belstead. A story that supports the chronic case: FLEAS

“Lilly, my Maremma, had itchy skin and flea infestation when she was barely a year old.  What an embarrassment to own such a miserable-looking hound, incessantly scratching and chewing at herself!  There were no fleas in the environment, I lay down on her bedding and couldn’t find a flea, nor a flea find me.  All the little rascals were on the dog.  I mean, there were thousands of the critters, breeding, partying and cohabiting with her.

!’d bath her every Saturday for weeks, killing the current flea population, only to have the next generation hatch out in oceanic waves of humungous proportions before the end of the week.  Each week I’d kill ‘em off using natural products, essential oils, herbal tinctures, whatever I could think of, but still the fleas and me continued our cycle of hatch, match and dispatch.  During this time a chronic flea situation was established.  A few fleas a-visiting would have been treated as an acute case, but a whole community moving in to take up miners’ rights and given time to build restaurants and birthing centres soon became chronic.

Time to consult the inner homoeopath.  Why, you may ask, did I not do this in the first place?  Well sometimes we don’t see the wood for the trees… hence, my Itchy Dog Formula was born.  I added 20 drops to her food once a day for the next YEAR.  There was an improvement straight away, the flea population reduced, the itchiness diminished, the hair grew back.  But it took a whole year before I could say that she was completely recovered and there were NO MORE FLEAS.  At all.  Gone.  Completely.  This demonstrates the need to NOT GIVE UP in CHRONIC cases.

Now, here’s the punch-line.  Lilly died the other day of natural causes at the ripe old age, for a big dog, of 14.  Since our run-in with fleas when she was a year old, she never at any time had even one flea lodging on her.  Not only did I finally get rid of the beasts, I set up a resistency in Lil’s body that said, “no fleas allowed”, and it made her body unsavoury to them.  In this instance I dosed continually once a day.  I may have gotten the same result if I’d dosed once a week as stated in the dosage for chronic cases above.  The main thing to remember is to dose regularly, continuously and faithfully”.
