Dr. Maarten Stapper – Nutrition of generations influencing the next and the effects of diet on genetics

www.farmingsecretsblog.com

This is part 4 of 4 of the ‘Walk the Talk’ with Marieke Rodenstein and Dr Maarten Stapper. DNA can tell what diseases you have but it doesn’t tell you how it works because genes are switching on and off to adapt. This is called Epigenetics. There’s cross-talk between genes and the environment, and Dr Maarten Stapper learned that the problem is not with the genes and environment, it’s in the management.

A perfect example of these is a hive of bees where working bees and the queen bee have the exact same DNA but because the working bees feed special food to the queen bee, the queen bee is different. Furthermore special foods can change not only the physical appearance but also the mental state.

This is part 3 of 4 of the ‘Walk the Talk’ with Marieke Rodenstein and Dr Maarten Stapper. Along with cancer, heart disease, dental health, obesity, anorexia, bulimia, allergies, diabetes, behaviour, manic depression, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s – only 5% of these are related to genes and the remaining 95% of these diseases are caused by the foods the we eat. We need prevention not only cures.

This is part 2 of 4 of the ‘Walk the Talk’ with Marieke Rodenstein and Dr Maarten Stapper. A typical scenario when a mother with gut dysbiosis has given birth. Marieke explains how this can lead to childhood epidemics such allergies, asthma, obesity, learning difficulties, ADHD etc. and these epidemics are growing numbers in Australia. This is not faith or bad luck, we can prevent these diseases.

This is part 1 of 4 of the ‘Walk the Talk’ with Marieke Rodenstein and Dr Maarten Stapper. Most medications are treating the symptoms rather than the cause. If we are only treating the symptoms and not the cause, it can produce much bigger problems which we call 21st century diseases such allergies, Alzheimer’s, ADHD, Cancer, Depression, Diabetes etc
And, says Marieke,  you don’t have to wait until you are sick to get healthy!

Practical applications from observing that it is a Full Moon

During the full moon farmers are advised not to mark animals, harvest, cut or dry hay or rack wine.
It is the time of fungal attacks – so use preparations to counteract the effect.
