Christine Jones reveals how carbon can help beat the drought

Posted by Helen Disler | Farming Secrets Club, Fertilizers, Soil Health, Systems | Monday 19 May 2008 4:44 am

Christine Jones says that your soil will retain the equivalent of an extra 2 buckets of water for every 1% increase in carbon in each 1 square metre of soil. Wow! I was bowled over by this information. She says if your soil is compacted and the water lays around or even if your soil is water logged and boggy, the soil will not retain the water. With the increase of carbon in your soil, the soil will become spongy and will absorb and hold more moisture. You will improve the water holding capacity of your soil while maintaining the soil structure.
